German Trade Unions and the Digital Revolution

چکیده

The digital revolution is a complex challenge for the German trade unions. On one hand, this due to general problems of union movement like declining organising power; on other digitalisation multi-layered process that developing in different forms, ranging from 'Industry 4.0' platform economy. In addressing these challenges, unions were able draw new strategic approaches based principles such as organising, participation and activation works councils. Basically, are trying influence its effects basis initiatives and, doing so, reposition themselves interest representatives workers. While councils at forefront 4.0', economy more diverse, but also restricted. And while proliferation forms limit strategies, strategies limited by their high costs effort compared relatively lower return.
